What Higienista Oral is and how we work

Higienista Oral is a small dental unit in Villavicencio. Care is one to one: few appointments in a day, time to look properly, and explanations in plain language.

We see patients by appointment and we build the schedule so that each person gets their time. We would rather see fewer patients in a day and explain things properly than fill the diary and rush through consultations.

Everything is recorded in your clinical record, so that any professional who sees you afterwards knows your case without you having to explain it all again.

The first visit and the treatment plan

The first visit is an initial assessment. We start by listening: what is bothering you, since when, what treatment you have had before, and any health conditions or medication we need to take into account.

Then comes the examination of your teeth, gums and bite. Where the case calls for it, X-rays are taken to see what cannot be seen by eye.

With that information we explain what we found and set out a treatment plan: what is recommended, in what order, over how many visits, and what the alternatives are, including waiting or not treating for now. You leave knowing what comes next, and treatment begins when you authorise it.

The space and biosecurity

Higienista Oral is a small dental unit. Care is one to one and by appointment, so each patient gets their own time rather than sharing a crowded waiting room.

We follow biosecurity protocols at every appointment: instruments are washed, packed and sterilised between patients; surfaces are disinfected; protective barriers and single-use items are used where appropriate; and waste is separated and handled according to the health regulations in force in Colombia.

Where a case needs a procedure we do not carry out here, we say so plainly and point you in the right direction. We would rather be straight about the scope of what we do than start something that is not ours to start.
