Full mouth rehabilitation is the treatment we carry out when a mouth needs more than a single filling or an isolated crown. The goal is to rebuild the whole bite, or a large part of it, so the teeth regain their shape, their height and their ability to chew.

When full mouth rehabilitation is needed

Certain signs usually indicate that the mouth needs a complete plan rather than a one-off repair:

The treatments that are combined

Full mouth rehabilitation brings together different procedures, depending on what each tooth needs:

Everything begins with an assessment. We take x-rays, photographs and models of your teeth to study how you bite today and what is realistic to achieve. With that information we present a written plan, in stages, with approximate timings for each one.

The first stage is about health: treating decay, gums and infections, and carrying out root canals or extractions if they are needed. The rest is built on a sound foundation.

Then comes the rebuilding stage. In many cases we use temporary crowns and dentures so you can try out the new bite for a few weeks before moving on to the definitive work. That way we can adjust height, shape and comfort without rushing.

Procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic and with pain management tailored to each case. Once the work is finished we schedule follow-up visits and, when bruxism is present, a night guard to protect what has been built.
